so I actually took a look in the mirror...

and realized I am a TOTAL whale. Granted I had a baby fairly recently, it WAS seven months ago. That's right, SEVEN months ago. Time flies, eh?

So anyway...the other day something devastating happened. I crouched down to do something and rrrriiipppppp. My beloved dark-wash crop jeans ripped right in the crotchal area. So, so sad. And since I refuse to go out and by a bigger size pair of jeans, I took a good long hard look at myself in the mirror and decided a change was in order.

No more excuses. There was always something preventing me from eating right, or going to the gym. Always. Not anymore! It's time to do this for myself, and my family and I am being courageous and sharing it all with you, my loyal blog readers!

So on Tuesday, the challenge began. I started going to the gym. I had a pep talk with myself and decided that going to the gym was just going to have to be a part of my day. It wasn't going to be a "if I have time" or "if I feel like it" type of thing. Nope. This is like brushing your teeth. I just HAVE to do it.

And so far, so good. I will admit, it is very difficult trying to find the time to get in a decent workout with having a husband that works a lot, and two little ones. But I am managing. I am EXHAUSTED, but managing. Tuesday morning, I was at the gym early in the morning, and then I went back in the afternoon to take an aerobic class. It felt so nice. And please rest assured, if I could prevent myself from having to go to the gym twice in one day, I would be all over that. But no...not happening. Life can never be easy, can it? Wednesday was the same story. I left my house around 6:30 am, got in 20 minutes of cardio, came home, and went back at 6:30 for another 45 minutes and some weight training. And this morning?? Wanna know what time I woke up? Anyone that knows me well, knows that mornings are not my forte. So how proud am I that I was AWAKE at 5:45 am and out the door by 6:15. Psshhh. That's dedication! :)

I am on a roll. I can only hope the enthusiasm continues. I think it should...especially if I start seeing some kind of results. I'll report on my weight loss journey from time to time to let you all know how it's going. My ULTIMATE goal is to lose 30 pounds. :o It's discusting to even think about, but that would put me at a healthy weight for my height...I have been that weight before and I can do it again. Just have to set my mind to it.
So don't go offering me chocolate or anything. You know how I am about my chocolate. Oye!

And since I am most defnitelt NOT posting pictures of my fat self, enjoy some pictures of my adorable babies!

You are awesome, Sheree! That is major dedication, waking up so early in the morning to work out of all things. I don't think I have it in me. :P

Love the pics, especially Cam's big cheesy grin. And that last picture of him freaked me out for a second because it looked like a mini-Cam!

It's funny people say "wow you look good for having 3 kids" I just laugh. Because if you see me naked all I am is a ball of flabby skin. :) (my poor husband) I'M not joking. I don't think my belly was supposed to stretch as far as it did with Ewan. I love you dedication. I have a gym membership and have rarely used it because I am a big chicken and get intimidated. :) But I am thinking I have no more excuses I need to just go.

Good for you! I wish I had your commitment ... I keep TALKING about working out and not actually doing anything about it. Gym membership continues to go unused although my jeans are cutting off my circulation. I'm here to cheer you on and maybe if you can do it I can too? Maybe. GOOD LUCK :)

I think maybe I need to go to the gym in the am instead of after work - don't forget we are doing cookies next weekend - so you better kick in your will power!!

ha! I already talked to Tracey about that mom...I am not sacrificing my cookie baking experience. I WILL be taste testing SEVERAL cookies next weekend. I'll just have to run a little harder at the gym on Monday I guess. I can't budge when it comes to cookies...especially if I am the one slaving over them. That's just not right, lol.

Wow, that is some serious dedication going on there! I do NOT do mornings so I'm amazed that you can be up at that time (Yeah, that would be classified as 'night' to me)and get to the gym! I think you'll be seeing results in no time with that kind enthusiasm, and I think you'll find you'll be feeling really good soon! (You know, because I know ALL about the gym, having never been there and all, because I'm lazy) Can't wait to hear how it's going!

Oh Sheree this is so great and timely. Good for you!!! this is Joyce by the way, Last year we had a new Gold's Gym built very near our house. I joined as I too was at the point of whale and I had visions of becoming a hot momma in a Gold's tank top. I got a personal trainer and everything. Well about three months after it opened they changed it to an Urban Active. It sorta took the steam out my dream, nothing sexy about wearing a wet-T with Urban Active across the chest, so I stopped going, got out of the habit.

So tonight I go to a wake and as I'm hugging my friend whose father passed, I see my personal trainer come walking straight at me. Busted. So what do I say..."I'll see you in the morning..." I don't even think I can fit into my workout pants anymore, but now I gotta go especially because I can't lie at a funeral. I'm sure that would come back to haunt me. I sure hope I can move tommorrow night. We will have to trade incentives. Actually I was thinking of having Sarah join so she could go with me. That would be sorta cool. Well, good luck.

I've been exercising for 3 weeks now and it feels GREAT! I actually look forward to hopping on my bike and riding away. It clears everything from my mind and I really need that right now!
