Field Trip!!

Cameron's preschool class went on their annual pumpkin patch field trip on Monday and this year Gabby and I had the pleasure of joining them.

We dropped Cam off in the morning and I decided it would be best if her and I followed behind in our own car to avoid germ-y four and five year olds sitting all around us on the bus.
So we waited in the parking lot while they loaded the kids on the bus...

I was so grateful my sister in law was there (her daughter goes to the same school) because she was able to chaperone Cameron too and I could deal with Gabby and the stroller...

By the time we got to the patch, Gabby was out cold and remained that way for a good 45 minutes

The first thing Cameron wanted to do was stick his face in the donkey butt:

And then it was time for the hayride. This is where having my sister-in-law came in really handy. I don't know what I would have done with the stroller had she not been there and I would have felt really bad not getting in there with him. I was so glad he had her!

While everyone else was on the hayride, Gabby and I wandered around and talked to the animals.

The hayride came to an end and all of the kids made their way towards the sheep where they each had a turn brushing her.

Lastly, each kid got to pick a small pumpkin...
Cameron picked the most unique one he could find which was tough because they were all perfect and small. He was able to find one with some character ;)

Cameron told me he didn't want to come home with me in our car but instead wanted to ride the bus home. As they got the kids loaded back on the bus, Gabby and I hung out in the patch and had some fun.

We had a great time and are actually planning on going back to the patch on Tuesday so be on the lookout for another post just like this ;)

Today is my 31st post for the 31 for 21 campaign! I am so relieved I got through it despite a couple of unfortunate bumps in the road! ;) I hope you enjoyed these last 31 days as much as I have!



Last night we carved our pumpkins. Cam was a grouch for the majority of the time but I managed to get a few of him smiling!


He was so excited to get to hold the knife. He wasn't actually allowed to do any carving, but he was still proud to be holding a tool! Goob.




This is where Nguyen was "pretending" to let Cam carve. Shortly after this photo, Cam realized he wasn't getting anywhere with his pumpkin and he began crying...again.




You know you're working hard when your tongue is hanging out of your mouth.

The Pham's at the Patch!

On Tuesday, we went to the local pumpkin patch. It's the same one Cameron got to visit last week on his first ever field trip. We figured we'd go in the daytime on a tuesday to avoid the crowds. Wow did we ever! We were pretty much the only people there. It was quite nice, actually.
The first thing we did was check out these giant pumpkins. I wanted cameron to stand on top of them but they had chairs sitting in front of them so I assumed it was against the rules.
Next was the petting zoo. It was really just goats that you could pet, but they also had caged bunnies that didn't mind being poked at.


When we first arrived on the farm, they had these BIG bernese mountain dogs roaming around. Actually I remembered them from last year. They are gentle giants. SOOOO cute. These are on my "Dogs I am going to own one day" list.

But this year I was in for a treat. PUPPIES! This was seriously the highlight of the pumpkin patch for me. They followed us around everywhere. This little (er, BIG) guy is only 12 weeks old!

The patch had some pretty interesting charcters. For instance...these guys. I can't remember what they are called. "something" goat but they look like llamas with dreadlocks. Awesome. Don't mind the two in the back...I had to cover cam's eyes for that!



Well, hello there!



I thought this guy was pretty cute!



And this guy was too much. As soon as we walked up to the ponies, he came overand stuck his face (and teeth) in my face. At first I thought he was trying to start something, but after a while, I realized he was being friendly in a really weird way.



Maybe he recently had dental work done and he was showing off?




Dude, we get it...you like your teeth.

Mymost favorite pic of the day! As soon as I sat her in those pumpkins, she lit up!


Cameron thought this pumpkin was "SO COOL!" Apparently it was so cool, it made him go into a semi-backbend.



This was on our way out. I said we needed to take this pic every year so we could see how much he grows. He wasn't impressed. I think he was ready to leave by this point.




We left with four pumpkins. Next up...carving them. Not looking forward to that!
